With a recently expanded website comes the opportunity to start up our all new Pirate Blog. Let’s clear something up nice n early, this does not do quite what it says on the tin; we won’t be reporting on swashbuckling adventures with Captain Hook or Jack Sparrow. However, we’re sure you’ll be just as excited by the reality. We’ll be dropping regular updates from the Pirate Studios universe, music reviews and maybe the occasional opinion piece on treasure maps and their authenticity.
Fortunately for us, there’s a lot to update you on.
First up, we’re very pleased to announce that our lockers are finally ready, so if you’ve been sleeping on a bed of your band’s equipment, we’ve got just the solution for you. Head over to our booking area to start up your locker subscription.
This also seems a great time to reflect on where it all began. I’ve added some photos of our Bristol studios in the early days (before we got our grubby , splintered fingers all over it), with some of the very first walls going up. Because we started from scratch, it allowed us to tailor details of every element in our practice rooms. What has resulted are rooms with that unique Pirate sound – dead, flat, acoustically treated – so the drummer can hear their drums, the guitarist can hear their strums, and the singer can hear their.. sungs?
We’ve learnt a lot of lessons along the way (note to self: measure twice, cut once), and we’ll be applying plenty of new ideas to our next builds. That’s right, the next builds. We’re absolutely buzzing to be nearing completion in both Birmingham and Cardiff. But more on that later. For now, enjoy a glimpse into the initial baby steps of our Pirate Studios adventure.
Happy Easter and happy rehearsing to all!
